Permanent Cosmetics- what is it all about?

All the words for the same thing... Permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, micropigmentation, dermal implantation, are all different names for the same procedure – "Permanent Cosmetics". Under this, there are sub categories for eyebrow (microblading, microstroking, eyebrow embroidery, powder brows, ombré brows, combination brows, hybrid brows, 3D Brows, nano strokes, hair strokes) eyeliner (eyelash line enhancement, winged eyeliner, stardusting, eyeliner/shadowing), and lips (ombré lips, permanent lip stain, permanent lip liner).

  • Cosmetic Tattooing is the act of implanting pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. The pigment is different than in body tattoos in that over time, wear and aging of the skin, it fades. It is permanent, and it will never fade back to nothing but it will fade enough for you to change the color if you so desire at a later stage in life (hence why some call it a semi permanent procedure).

  • It is a layering process that often requires two to three procedures for the best result. Waiting time between session is a recommended 4-12 weeks.

  • Each session can vary in timing of 1.5 hours to 3 hours in total (consultation + measuring + drawing + anesthetic + actual procedure).

  • Strict before and aftercare instructions are given to encourage the best healing practices and longevity of the tattoo.

  • Healing time after each session is ~10 days (unless told otherwise) and 'dry healing' is recommended. This is the best way to avoid infection and is simple to remember; apply nothing and keep dry!

Microblading/ Feather Touch

A manual technique using a hand tool. This mimics brow hairs and heals with a realistic and natural result that can give the brow a fuller appearance. The hair strokes are as important as the gaps in between with many variations of hair growth patterns and fullness. This technique shows off crisp, fine “hair” strokes that can help fill in thin brows or brows with bald spots. It is also used for total brow reconstruction for those who have bare brows. Whether it's fluffy soft brows you're after or just filling in the gaps, this is a popular choice.

  • Best suited for normal to dry skin

  • Lasts approximately 1-2+ years

Powder Brows/ Ombré Powder Brows

A machine technique which achieves a natural soft powdered look. Powder brows have more color by shading and are ideal for those who normally fill in brows or would like a more filled in brow. By brushing the skin with a single nano needle, the pigment is built layer by layer producing a gradient of customized color from dark to light for Ombré Powder Brows. This mimics the natural color progression of the brow lightest at the beginning and darkest from the arch to the tail. If you have previous permanently tattooed brows, this is likely the best option.

  • Suits most skin types

  • Lasts approximately 2-4+ years

Hybrid Brows

A technique that combines the hairstrokes of microblading with the shading of Ombré/ Powder. Incredible variations with customizable option. One option is hair strokes in beginning connecting to shading in arch to tail. Another option is hair strokes all over and shading throughout the center or to fill in gaps of significant hairlessness. Get the best of both worlds with this amazing technique!

  • Suits most skin types

  • Lasts approximately 1-3+ years

Eyelash Line Enhancement (Top & Bottom)

A thin line gently shaded into the base of lashes to give the appearance of fuller and darker lashes.

Eyeliner w/ Gentle Wing

A thin- thick line along base of lashes extending to a flick at the outer corner of eye.

Designer Eyeliner

Glamorous eyeliner with a variety of colors and shading. Eliminate the need for eyeshadows with a natural - full glam approach to every day eyeliner!

  • One for everyone! Suits all walks of life, personalities & lifestyles

  • Lasts 3-5+ years

Tattoo Removal (cosmetic or body)

Remove unsatisfactory previous cosmetic tattoo or body art. Pigment removal is effective and safe using only saline and the body’s natural immune response- no lasers. This can be helpful for those who have very old permanent makeup done using outdated techniques, or for those who have botched work they would like to correct. Anesthetics keep pain and discomfort to a minimum as the skin is brushed with needles to open the skin and penetrate its layers. Specialized saline solution is applied to help create scabs. These scabs are the natural immune response of the body when skin is exposed to trauma. As the scabs form and rise to the surface of the skin to peel off, the scabs pull the pigment up and out as well.

  • Each session requires approximately 1-1.5 hours

  • There is no predetermined number of treatments. It is on an individual case by case basis. There must be a 3 month waiting period between each removal treatment if it is determined that multiple treatments are needed.
